The media seems to convey that the way to approach rising temperatures is to build taller walls on the coast and raise structures on pillars while building more and stronger levees and constructing better drainage systems in cities and adding more pumping stations.
“Come on people!” What about drought and the damage to the crops? What about trout and salmon which survive only in cold water and will eventually be replaced by dace and river suckers? What about our forest being replaced by evasive species? What about the influx of invading insects? What about the polluted air we breathe and the rise in respiratory illnesses? What about the stress and strain to survive among each other over lack of clean water and rationing food supply? What about the fear and uncertainty of not getting global warming under control? What about the shortening of the life expectancy of our kids of today?
The answer of curbing this disaster lays in changing our habits, now! Driving less, family planning to reduce world population and stop urban sprawl to prevent the destruction of forest. And to face reality!
