In “Media Can’t Handle the Climate Truth” (Business World, Sept. 4), Holman Jenkins identifies some good news in the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s projections. Unfortunately, when climate change dominates the ecological conversation, improvements in water quality, air quality and habitats are ignored, along with the decline in hazardous waste sites and oil spills.
Where are these improvements happening? In America and other countries with participatory governance and innovative free markets—not in command-and-control states like China and Iran or robber-baron states like Russia and Venezuela. That’s more good news that isn’t popular with the media and many activists.
